The 1995 Structure Plan guides development in Cambridgeshire up to the year 2006. It indicates how much land will be needed for houses, offices, factories, shops etc. and ways in which these requirements are to be balanced with the need to protect the environment of the County for present and future generations. The Plan is a statutory document, formally adopted by Cambridgeshire County Council in December 1995 after extensive consultation and an independent local inquiry.
